will be able to use health insurance in Romania
Citizens from European
Union states will have the possibility to use their health insurance in Romania,
under a government decision yesterday. The measure came following a change to
a government ordinance issued last year regarding free circulation of EU and European

Commission set to approve draft against illegal immigration
The
European Commission unveiled yesterday a plan to combat illegal immigration by
instating a short-term visa system and creating rapid response teams of border
guards. The plan, outlined by EU Justice Commissioner Franco Frattini, is
based on a voluntary scheme where member states willing to participate in the
project would be asked to draw up a list of national border guards available to

Thai chicken farmers and producers
from more than 10 export groups gathered at the office of the European Commission
in Bangkok yesterday to protest against the bloc's new programme limiting chicken
imports. Under the EU's new quota system, a 53 percent tax will be slapped
on processed chicken beyond the allowed quota of each country while the duty for
